Charlie’s Angels was one of the biggest television shows of the 1970’s. It follows the exploits of three female detectives in Los Angeles. It ran for a total of 110 episodes, over five seasons from 1976 to 1981. The show got a movie remake in 2000. The show was known for good action and good looks. So what happened to the cast?
Farah Fawcett was not only the face of Charlie’s Angels, she was the face of sex appeal in the 70’s. The infamous poster, pictured on the left, is one of the icons of the decade.
Fawcett played Jill Monroe on Charlie’s Angels. She won a Golden Globe for her performance. She stayed in the spotlight for many years after the show went off the air. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2009.
Actor David Doyle played John Bosley on the original television show. Along with Kelly Garrett, he was the only actor to appear in every single episode.
Doyle began acting in 1959. After Angels, he voice acted the character Grandpa Lou Pickles on the cartoon Rugrats. He played the role until he died in 1997.
He was also a stage actor. Doyle played Orgon in the 1964 version of Tartuffe.
In addition to the show’s original run and the 2000 film remake, there was also a flopped stab at a TV reboot in 2011. Minka Kelly was the breakout star of the show.
Kelly is best known for her role in Friday Night Lights. After the Angels reboot fizzled, she continued unfazed with her television acting career.
She has appeared in Almost Human and The Path. She was also in the movie Lee Daniels’ The Butler.
