Being a celebrity isn't always easy. As nice as it is to have fans and money, there are plenty of downsides to life in the pubic eye. Famous people have pretty much lost their privacy, and instead have to constantly deal with paparazzi and crazy fans. This article is full of your favorite actors, musicians, models and more being pushed too far. Above is a pic of Lindsay Lohan throwing a drink at photographers. And this wasn't the only time this happened. Stick around to see what else she threw and why she lost it...

Russell Crowe has had multiple run-ins with all kinds of people, most notably a hotel employee. Back in 2005, he was having trouble reaching his wife in Australia, so he threw the phone at a desk clerk. This happened at Lower Manhattan's $3,000-a-night Mercer Hotel. The police were called, Crowe was arrested, and eventually taken to court and charged with two felonies: assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon, which was the telephone. He plead guilty and avoided seven years of jail time.
Another famous Russell, Russell Brand, also intensely dislikes the paparazzi. The actor/comedian has never allowed himself to be messed with by the celebrity photogs, which has put him in some pretty messy situations. During his engagement to Katy Perry, he and his then-fiancé were approached at LAX airport. One of the paparazzo, seen above being held down by a furious Brand, was apparently trying to take pictures up Perry's skirt. Russell attacked the man, took his camera and pinned him to the ground. He was arrested and released later that day after posting $20,000 bail.
Perry later tweeted her support of Brand's actions, saying, “If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don’tf***withtheBrands." Another incident, this time in New Orleans, saw him catching a photographer secretly snapping pics of him with his iPhone. Brand approached the man, stole his phone and threw it through a nearby window, shattering the glass. The man, and the law firm whose window was broken, filed reports for criminal damages.

Maybe the most well known case of a celebrity losing it was back in 2007 when Britney Spears was right in the middle of an epic public meltdown. After a series of shocking events, from mishandling her baby to a crazy interview on NBC's Dateline with Matt Lauer, Spears had enough with all the harassment. She had previously begged people to leave her alone, but when they didn't listen, she decided to do something about it. Following a dramatic haircut, which saw her shaving her head, she attacked a paparazzo's vehicle with an umbrella, trying to break through the passenger-side window.
She had been caught accidentally flashing cameras and was accused of being on drugs, even spending a night in a rehab facility. This was all part of a difficult period of her then-marriage with Keven Federline, who she starred with on their TV show Chaotic. This resulted in ongoing custody battles and even more incidents of bad behavior, like reckless driving and public fights with multiple people in her life, some of which ended up being the subject of restraining orders. Spears was one of the first celebs to crack under the pressure, but not the last...
One of Britney's exes, the also famous Justin Timberlake, has made his dislike for the paparazzi very clear. In the photo above, he was with then-girlfriend Cameron Diaz when a photographer almost hit Diaz with his car. Justin lost it and it wasn't his last time to do so. More recently, back in 2015, he had a drunken run-in with paparazzi and told them how lazy they are, on camera. The video went viral.

Pop stars are probably the most vulnerable to paparazzi, seeing as their level of fame is arguably the highest above all other celebrities. Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest musicians in the world, and her outspoken nature has landed her in hot water. Despite her attempts to be civil to the photographers, sometimes they go too far. Once she attacked a paparazzo, who approached her as she was leaving the gym, and tried to take his camera...
Twitter - @mileycyrus
Another Miley incident saw her turning the camera on the paparazzi. She had made a point to call out cameramen for reckless driving and putting her and others in danger just to try to get a shot. She even snapped a pic of one of their cars and posted in on her incredibly popular Twitter page with the message seen above. Cyrus claims they have broken the law multiple times and been responsible for hurting her dogs.
Kid Cudi recently released a project with Kanye West, who's also had run-ins with the paparazzi, discussed next. But Cudi's incident saw him actually losing it on a fan. In 2009, an audience member threw something at him during a performance. Cudi jumped into the crowd and attacked who he thought had thrown the object, but it was the wrong person. He later apologized. The next year a similar situation happened when someone rushed the stage.
Kanye West has had so many public incidents it's hard to keep up. One that actually had criminal consequences happened when he was approached by paparazzi at LAX, leading West to steal a camera and smash it. The paparazzo claimed West struck him, but West argued the man fell on purpose and that there was no actual contact. He was still charged with battery and attempted grand theft.
One of the only celebs who rivals Kanye's consistent public meltdowns is Shia LeBeouf, who's even turned many of his issues into art projects, which will be discussed next. But first, let's talk about when paparazzi were harassing him at a coffee shop. LeBeouf calmly collected his things, grabbed his coffee and sprinted towards one of the photographers and threw the beverage all over the man's back before running away...
Twitter - @janetmanley
LeBeouf has turned his distaste for celebrity into some pretty interesting performance art. Once he locked himself in an elevator with a group of people for 24 hours. He also watched every movie he's ever been in for three days straight. Another piece, the Just Do It video, went viral and is still used today. And above is him wearing a paper bag on the red carpet that reads, I Am Not Famous Anymore.

Rihanna hasn't really had any trouble with paparazzi, but crazy fans have pushed her buttons. Once she left the stage during a performance and was grabbed by an audience member. She smacked him on the head with her microphone. The next year, in 2014, she publicly ridiculed a fan who wore an outfit inspired by her 2010 Grammy dress. The post, which was seen by her 35 million followers, received the appropriate backlash.
NY Daily News
Alec Baldwin is arguably the most notorious celebrity when it comes to run-ins with the paparazzi, even having written a letter to a newspaper claiming he'd been stalked by the photographers. He's had multiple incidents that include shoving them, slamming them into cars and pushing them to the ground. Once in New York City he and his wife, who had just given birth, were approached by cameramen and he didn't take kindly to the harassment.

Ariana Grande was involved in one of the most unusual events discussed in this article. The image above is from a video someone took of her licking a doughnut in a shop while being very rude to the people who worked there, even saying "I hate Americans. I hate America." It went viral on the Fourth of July and took her out of the running to perform for the president at a White House gala.
Another pop star, Britain's Lily Allen, was once rear-ended by a paparazzo who was following her, calling back to Miley Cyrus's claim that the photographers often go to dangerous extremes to get a shot. Allen was not happy with the accident, got out of her car and lost it. This incident was captured in the pictures above. She threw a water bottle at the man and attacked him, but he still continued to pursue her.

Justin Bieber has cleaned up his act for the most part over the last couple years, but the events that led to this change were pretty legendary. He's had trouble with photographers and fans, even spitting on them from a hotel balcony. Bieber's attacked paparazzi and threatened them, once having to be restrained by his bodyguards. Another incident, captured above, happened after he was pulled over for speeding trying to get away from the cameras.
Academy Award winning actress/producer/director Jodie Foster was caught above making her distain for paparazzi very clear. She's tried to keep her life as private as possible, but it's often difficult to escape the limelight. Back in 2010 she was accused of attacking a paparazzo who was trying to take pictures of her and her two sons. She reportedly grabbed the 17-year-old's arm, leaving a visible injury, and sharply poked his chest.
Gerard Butler has had multiple run-ins with paparazzi, proving he's not too different from a lot of the tough guys he portrays in his films. Like some celebrities in this article, the Scottish actor has even been criminally charged, in this case with misdemeanor battery, for allegedly punching a paparazzo in the face. In the picture above he's seen chasing a photographer without ending what must've been a very important phone call.
Twitter - @StylistMagazine
Gigi Hadid once had a run-in with notorious superfan Sediuk, who's had multiple incidents with celebrities, including one that will be discussed later. Outside of a fashion show in Milan, Hadid was walking to her vehicle when he grabbed her and actually picked her up for a few scary seconds. He claims this was a statement directed at what he feels is the unnecessary inclusion of celebrities in the fashion world. She fought back and escaped.
Twitter - @MstarsNews
Jesse Eisenberg wasn't involved in a dangerous encounter that resulted in criminal charges, but his incident is a good example of how a celebrity can lose it. Press tours often push celebs beyond their breaking point. During an interview with blogger Romina Puga, he almost immediately got upset with her questions and started criticizing her techniques. She was visibly shaken by his insults and this created one of the most awkward celebrity interviews of all time.
Twitter - @m0rie3
Nicole Richie is yet another celebrity who was caught throwing liquid at paparazzi, along with the aforementioned Lily Allen and Lindsay Lohan, who will make another appearance in this article soon. She was caught in the image above on her way to the gym being followed and pestered by photographers. It must've been a bad day, because after she emptied her water on the cameramen, she threw the empty bottle at them.
Christian Bale was involved in another one of the most notorious public meltdowns in celebrity history. While filming Terminator: Salvation, the film's director of photography Shane Hurlbut interrupted an intense take, causing the actor to lose it. In the very divisive incident, which Bale eventually apologized for, some co-workers even supported Bale, saying he was normally easy to work with and that he, and others on the set, had run-ins with the apparently difficult Hurlbut before.

Ron Artest, now Metta World Peace, has snapped multiple times. He was once part of an epic meltdown that happened right at the end of a basketball game between the Pacers and the Pistons. In the brawl, that's now known as the Malice at the Palace and thought of as the worst night in NBA history, Artest and other Pacers rushed into the stands to attack audience members who had been throwing their drinks on the players.
Twitter - @pitbull
Pitbull is a massively popular musician with millions of dollars in endorsement deals, but even he is vulnerable to losing it. During a concert in 2009, he invited a disruptive fan on stage, who then decided it would be a good idea to continue to fan dollar bills on the performer. He didn't appreciate the gesture, which had been going on throughout the concert, and retaliated by punching the man in face.
From The Grapevine
Samuel L. Jackson appropriately lost it on an interviewer who ignorantly confused the famous actor with Lawrence Fishburne. At the very beginning of a video discussion with an entertainment reporter, Jackson was asked a question that was clearly meant for Fishburne, and the legend wasn't having it. He accused KTLA's Sam Rubin of being racist and bad at his job, but still managed to keep his scolding light and humorous.

Chris Jericho is the first wrestler to be included in this article, but as someone who's made a career pretending to be upset in the ring, it makes sense that fans wouldn't know what's real and what's not. In 2009, after a match, his vehicle was blocked by a group of hecklers. Jericho lost it and actually punched one of them in face and then spit on her friend. The expletive-laden incident was caught on camera.
Twitter - @ThisIsRYOT
Afroman is another celebrity who was captured attacking a female fan. During a concert in 2015, a woman got on stage and attempted to dance with the musician. He lost it and hit her hard, leading to a concussion and multiple injuries. Police stopped the show and arrested him, but he was soon released. Afroman apologized, saying that he wasn't in the right state of mind and that he thought it was a male heckler.
Sean Penn is another famous, celebrated actor who doesn't take kindly to the paparazzi. All the way back in 1985, he was charged with assault and battery for attacking photographers. Once he allegedly dangled a paparazzo over a balcony after he found him waiting in his hotel room. In the image above, which was taken much more recently, he was caught kicking a cameraman. On top of this, he defends his actions against them.

Will Smith had an incident with the aforementioned superfan Sediuk, who was discussed earlier in this article for assaulting Gigi Hadid. While promoting a film, Smith was being interviewed by the troll, who has also pranked Kim Kardashian and America Ferrera, when Sediuk went in for a hug. Smith reluctantly accepted before the man kissed him out of nowhere, leading Will to gave him a quick back-handed slap, saying, "What the hell is your problem buddy?"

Rapper/chef/television personality Action Bronson has developed an unfortunate trend during his live shows that sees audience members jumping on stage, only to be handled by the big man. Fans are now making it a point to rush the stage, hoping to be body-slammed back into the crowd. This has happened multiple times, with many of the crazy incidents being caught on camera and making the rounds on the internet.
Halle Berry has been very vocal about her disapproval of the paparazzi, especially when it comes to her children, and any other celebrities who have kids. She even helped with legislation that would make taking pictures of minors without permission a form of harassment that would carry a $10,000 fine and a year in jail. Berry says it's inherently dangerous to target children who will be profoundly affected by this type of harassment.
Coldplay's Chris Martin was captured above losing it on a nosy paparazzo who was harassing him and his then-wife Gwyneth Paltrow as they were leaving Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. While Paltrow was escorted to their car by a bodyguard, Martin covered his face with his jacket's hood and attacked the photographer. He wrestled the man to the ground and took his camera before jumping in the vehicle to leave, but the man went after his camera.
As promised, we'll now look at one of the many Lindsay Lohan meltdowns. The image at the beginning of this article took place at an airport when she launched an open bottle water at paparazzi. The picture above shows her throwing something much worse than a plastic water bottle. As photographers rushed her car she threw a open can of Red Bull at them. She's even hit them with eggs.

Another notoriously volatile celebrity is Mike Tyson, who's lost it on paparazzi, fans and haters alike. He's been arrested for attacking photographers and even been sued for as much as $25 million dollars. He's been mobbed by fans trying to take selfies with him. Needless to say, they didn't get the shot. And for anyone brave enough to say or do anything negative, you've been warned.

Tom Cruise was involved in another bizarre incident on the red carpet. Above is an image of him on The Tonight Show enjoying being sprayed with water, but he wasn't so happy when this happened back in 2005. He was promoting a movie when a man posing as a reporter squirted him in the face with a fake microphone. The man and his three accomplices were arrested and later released on bail.
Akon, like many of the musicians discussed in this article, had an extreme reaction to a heckler during a show. While performing at an outdoor concert, a teenage fan threw something at him. In response, Akon took off his shirt, brought the kid to the stage, picked him up and then threw him back into the crowd. He plead guilty to charges and was fined $350 and served 65 hours of community service.

Katy Perry, seen above in a rare moment of not hating the paparazzi, was mentioned earlier as a part of Russell Brand's attack. She's had her own run-ins, leading her to become very outspoken against them. After being harassed in Australia, when photographers attempted to coerce her into giving them a bathing suit shot, she wrote a long message online shaming anyone who does this job and anyone who supports them.

Rapper Kevin Gates was charged with battery back in 2016 after he kicked a female fan during a show. The woman, who was in the front row of his performance at a Florida club, was trying to pull down his shorts when he retaliated. The court didn't think this was a good enough reason for what he did. He received a six-month jail sentence and was released in 2018.
Hugh Grant has had multiple incidents with the paparazzi. In 2007, a paparazzo was harassing him in London and he lost it. Grant was arrested for kicking and throwing some baked beans at the photographer. Those charges were dropped, but then two years later he kicked a TMZ reporter in the groin. In 2011, he won a lawsuit against photo agencies from pursuing and stalking his wife and baby.
Bjork's attack on a paparazzo is legendary. The very private singer was leaving an airport in Bangkok when a reporter, who Bjork said had been harassing her for days, greeted her outside. She snapped and lunged at the women, pulling her hair and throwing her to the ground. She apologized, but then did this again over a decade later at another airport, this time in Auckland.
Elton John hates the paparazzi. He's made a point to be vocal about how much he dislikes the photographers. Once, while enjoying a nice day on a private yacht with his husband and friends, he snapped at the realization that cameramen were present. He dropped his pants and let them know exactly what he thought of their harassment.
